Have Fashion -- Will Travel!
Each summer in our camp series for the last few years, we have focused on a European Fashion Capital. This year, we will be focusing on fashions that could be worn anywhere fashion is in style -- be it New York, Milan, Paris, London, Frankfurt -- or at home. Therefore the theme for 2016 is "Have Fashion -- Will Travel!" and YOU are cordially invited to join Just Make it Sew as we explore sewing, fashion and travelling. Each camp week will be a "Fashion Week" at JMIS during the summer. And, each week of camp, we will end the week with a short fashion "show" that, like last year, will be recorded and put on the JMIS YouTube channel with the girls "modeling" their creations.
Our summer camps are appropriate for young (aspiring) sewista's from ages 8 to 16. A number of this year's projects will allow each sewista to choose from among various design options that will allow them to express their creativity -- and showcase their own style. Besides having fun, making new or renewing old friendships and learning basic or new sewing skills, we will make up to 3 or 4 items (of those listed below) as time allows which will be chosen from among the following projects:

A "Vintage" Travel Bag. 
All the young people in our camps love the different bags and backpacks they create. Pictured here is a JMIS exclusive design that they can create (in their own style).

A Design "Clinic". Part of the first day each week will include a design workshop where these budding sewista's will begin by choosing projects, colors and style choices like variations in sleeve, neckline, etc.

Pants and/or a Jacket. (Pictured on the right is a project for the advanced camp.)

Cost for a week of camp is $295.00 and includes all materials for the camp, plus a pizza lunch on the last day of camp (Burlington location only). ** Advanced Camp participation is with approval by JMIS. Projects will be bit more involved and will include additional skills not typically covered in the regular camp.
In the West Windsor NJ area (sign up is through the West Windsor - Plainsboro School District), we host a camp from Monday -- Friday from 9 am to Noon.
