Mending matters!

"Fast Fashion" is neither environmentally sound nor allows people to earn a living wage. And, some of us can't afford to just go out and purchase a new item of clothing every time something needs repairing. Sashiko on the other hand treats mending as Art -- or Craft. Join the ranks of those who take pride in slow fashion and make what you wear count.

Join us as we begin our Life Skills Series by learning how to mend your own clothing. Suitable for anyone who wants to learn certain life skills without becoming a seamstress and take a thoughtful, considered approach to what they wear.

Skills learned include hand sewing, patching and machine stitching. Bring in an article (or two) of clothing that needs to be mended and we'll show you how to fix or repair that well loved item.

As usual, space is limited and these classes can fill up quickly. Walk-in's are welcome but you can guarantee your spot by signing up now before its too late!

This class is being offered on Thursday evening, January 23rd, 2020 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Other class dates in the Life Skills series will be offered on subsequent Thursday evenings and are also are listed on our classes and workshops page.
