Is your young sewist interested in Fashion Design? Have they taken one or more of the Design & Create series with us? Have they expressed an interest in Fashion Design?

This is the second workshop in our "Building Blocks of Style" where we introduced your sewist to a real taste of fashion design, pattern making and finished project.

In the first workshop we introduced your budding designer to making their own T-Shirt sloper. In this workshop we'll take the sloper that was designed in the first part and make a finished project based on the "Sloper". The advantages of making your own sloper are that you make a pattern that is tailored to your own body measurements and shape. The result is a finished product that not only fits, but fits tailored to you! With a completed sloper, it can be used to make any number of different styles of garment, using the basic sloper as the initial building block of the person's individual style.

This class is available to students ages 11 and above. Students must be able to use a ruler, understand measurements, fractions, and have sewn with us before. Those signing up for this workshop will receive the following items as part of the class: a mechanical pencil, a french curve ruler, a clear straight ruler and pattern making paper.
