Sew a "Fantastical Creatures" Stuffie workshop!

Join us in this Sunday afternoon sew-a-stuffie workshop and make your choice of either of the two stuffies pictured here. Make your own adorable Nessie (Lochness Monster) or Halloween Pumpkin stuffie in this Sunday afternoon workshop. These are projects for those who have sewn with us before, taken the intro class or our summer camp. Either project will enhance and stretch their sewing skills.

In this workshop your sewist will learn include sewing on curves, stuffing, adding the nose, eyes, ears, clothing, etc. Your family, when they ask where your bought these adorable stuffies will be amazed to hear that "She/He made it herself!".

As usual, space is limited and these classes can fill up quickly. Appropriate for sewists ages 8 and above -- even adults. We recommend you guarantee your spot by signing up now before its too late!

To accommodate individuals who may not be comfortable with people coming into the store or sharing our studio space with others taking individual lessons at the same time, we are offering a "closed door" lesson time where the shop will not be open for business during our regular business day. These hours may be scheduled prior to the regular opening of the store, or at the end of the day. Private lessons are only offered on an 'In-store" basis.

Sometimes an hour just isn't enough time to finish what you are looking to do, but you aren't ready to commit to a larger block of hours. Purchase a two hour lesson for a specific purpose or use it instead of signing up for our Intro to Sewing class when you think you want more one-on-one time. Can be used as a two hour block all at one time, or in two (2) one-hour sessions. This price represents a 10% discount from the cost of 2 one-hour lessons purchased individually!

Sew On-Trend! is our 2023 summer sewing camp theme. This year, we will be focusing on designing, making and sewing items that are "on-trend" with current fashion styles and based on items from various designer runways for Spring-Summer 2023. We will have fun taking these ideas and creating unique and amazing fashion projects. By guiding our budding sewists in both design and creation, we will assist them in making items they'll love to use or wear and that are as unique as they are!

As part of this year's "Sew On-Trend!", your young sewist will have fun making new friends, sewing up a storm and being the first to make their own On-Trend fashionable and classic items. YOU, are cordially invited to join Just Make it Sew as we explore sewing and fashion. We end each week of camp with a display of finished projects that -- like previous years -- will be shared on Facebook and Instagram.

Our summer camps are appropriate for aspiring sewista's from ages 8 to 17. We will offer a few advanced projects for our advanced, returning and more experienced sewists. A number of this year's projects will allow each sewista to choose from among various design options that will allow them to express their creativity -- and showcase their own style. Besides having fun, making new or renewing old friendships and learning basic or new sewing skills, we will make up to 3 or 4 items in the time allowed. Those who are more advanced will be given more challenging projects.

This is a special offer sewing lesson for any two people interested in taking a two hour sewing lesson together. Great taken together as the Introduction to Sewing or for learning a skill together with your child. We are offering this as a 2-hour individual lesson or class where two people together are learning the same skills. Sign up for a two hour lesson for yourself and a friend (or child). A great learning opportunity! (Must be used together, no other discounts apply. If used for the Intro to Sewing class, time allowed to complete your first project.) This is designed as an in-person class. If you are interested in taking this virtually, please contact us before signing up.

Want to take your sewing to the next step? Sign up and pay for five one-hour sewing lessons. Regularly $200.00 when purchased individually, but payment in advance will save you 20% over the one-hour lesson rate.

To help us plan, please choose if you will be attending in-person or virtually. Virtual lessons may require advance preparation by JMIS. Such preparation will be discussed and charged against the prepaid time in quarter hour increments as needed to gather materials and/or prepare projects prior to the lesson. Once purchased as in-person or virtual, you are not limited by that original choice.

Please note: The purchase of a block of lessons is intended to be used within six months of purchase. Any balance not used within 6 months from the date of purchase will incur a $5.95 per month handling fee on any remaining balance.

Sewing is something that is shared by all peoples throughout the world. Together with your sewist we will weave a thread of fashion and learning together in this Saturday morning sewing social. Students can choose from a list of available projects or bring their own. We'll work with students in this group class as in-person sessions.

These classes are held on Saturday mornings at 9:30 a.m., lasting until approximately 11:00 a.m. And will last for five (5) weeks as an in-person class. This series is appropriate for beginner to advanced beginner students.

Sewcial Society Sessions run five (5) consecutive Saturday mornings on a rolling five (5) week basis as space allows.

Fabric is not included in these sessions and will need to purchased separately. Projects may be chosen from our library of patterns at no charge. Appropriate for ages 8 and up. Please note: Due to the special pricing of these classes, make up sessions are not allowed for these classes unless absences are noted at the time of signup for each session. Like our Sewcial Society class series, this series of classes is designed to provide a "hands-on" opportunity for you to learn and expand your sewing skills. Want to outfit yourself that shows what you're really feeling? If you can think it, we can most likely help you make it. See a new style trend you love? Stay ahead of the curve and showcase your creative skills with your own designer outfit. These 90-minute classes are perfect for the budding sewist who wants "Make it. Wear it. and Look her/his best!"

The Sew-Your-Style Class Series takes place on Tuesday afternoons from 4:30 to 6:00 pm and Friday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:30 on a rolling 5-week basis as space is available. Choose your session on checkout.

Fabric and patterns are not included in these five week group of classes. Appropriate for ages 8 and up. Please Note: Due to the special pricing of these classes, make up sessions are not allowed for these classes unless absences are noted at the time of signup for each session.
