Palmer Pletsch PerfectFuse Interfacing - Sheer
This is the kind of interfacing tailors use --the Palmer Pletsch fusible interfacing. There are four different weights of interfacing -- Sheer, Light, Medium and Tailor -- and each weight has it's own distinctive characteristics and uses and depends on your specific need and project. Sheer and Light are similar in weight but have different uses. Sheer provides crisper body and is great for use it in collars and cuffs. Light fuses to textures better than Sheer, so on some smooth fabrics, Light may show through, whereas Sheer won't. Designers use Light as an underlining in 3-ply silk crepe de chine jackets. It makes a great underlining in any jacket where a little extra body is needed and it's open weave adds breath-ability. Keep Light in the bag as it can snag, another reason its sold it in a package. Tailor is wonderful in jacket fronts and on the under collar combined with Medium or Light on the upper collar and facing. Medium is ideal for Ultrasuede jackets. This PerfectFuse interfacing is ideal for underlining and fusing to textured fabrics. What you can’t see is what can make the biggest difference in the quality and appearance of garments.
